Mescar Fisheries – Official Match Rules

All anglers participating in Mescar Fisheries matches must adhere to the following rules.

Failure to comply will result in disqualification.

1. All participating anglers must register their attendance at the designated area as
instructed by Mescar Fisheries staff.

2. Each angler is permitted only ONE (1) draw for a peg.

3. Barbless hooks only are permitted.

4. Maximum hook size allowed is size 10.

5. Over-shotting is allowed.

6. Two keepnets or more must be used from the start of all matches.

7. Barbel and silver fish must be kept in a separate net from carp.

8. The weight limit on the matches is 60lb per net (65lb tolerance on Mistral lake)

9. Under 65lb you are knocked back to 60lb and If you go over 65lb in one net you lose the net

10. All keepnets must be sprayed prior to use before going onto the designated lake.

11. Keepnets must be placed to dry on the bank behind your peg and not put in the water
until 15 minutes before the match starts.

12. No swinging fish in – a landing net must be used for every fish.

13. No bait to be thrown in after the match – bait bins are provided.

14. No pole cups are to be held over the water before the “all in” signal.

15. Match officials’ decisions are final.

16. Offenders will be disqualified without exception.
