MISTRAL LAKE

Brief description of fishery:
Mistral Lake – Fair, Consistent, and Full of Surprises

At 3.5 acres, Mistral Lake might be smaller than some of its neighbours, but it’s making a big name for itself in the match fishing world. Known for being fair and consistent from peg to peg, it’s a favourite for both competitive anglers and those who just want a relaxing day on the water. Stocked with hard-fighting carp, chunky chub, and lively barbel, it’s the kind of venue where every peg feels like “the lucky one.”
The lake is only closed on Sundays for the weekly open (and occasionally Saturdays — check the Facebook page), so there’s plenty of room for pleasure fishing during the week.

Who’s in the Water?
  • Carp (Mirror & Common) – up to 16lb
  • Chub – to 3lb
  • Barbel – to 5lb

Depths & Pegs:
Every peg offers between 3–5ft of water, keeping things simple and consistent.

Top Tips (as of 01/05/2025):
  • Fish are on the move, but avoid overfeeding during colder spells.
  • Always check if the fish are already in your peg before feeding — you don’t want to spook them.

Hot Baits:
  • Pellet (Micro–6mm)
  • Maggot (Dead Reds)

Final verdict: Mistral Lake is all about reliable fishing and fair sport, giving every angler a genuine shot at a great catch — no matter where they set up.
